Job Summary
The Sioux Lookout Cargo Agent accurately enters all freight shipments into the computer database, produces loads for all cargo aircraft and contacts customers regarding all aspects of freight shipments.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify problems and make recommendations towards solutions.
- Ensure excellent customer care when handling customer calls/inquiries, accepting cargo, collecting payment, providing quotes and in any other customer situations.
- Contact customers regarding incoming freight, required purchase orders or monies due in a professional and courteous manner.
- Accurately produces all freight loads for company aircraft according to the prescribed aircraft weight and balance prior to scheduled departure times.
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing freight.
- Accurately enter all incoming freight into freight tracking computer software system
- Cargo acceptance and inventory control
- Assist with tracking of delayed baggage.
- Complete Daily Sales Reports and any other required paperwork
- Follow company policies and procedures when accepting dangerous goods.
- Perform daily facility opening and closing procedures.
- Perform and uphold Wasaya’s Customer Care Commitments to both internal and external customers.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is an asset.
- Previous shipping and receiving experience are an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain T.B.I.A.A AVOP license Ability to meet security requirements to obtain Restricted Area Pass
- Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment including forklift truck.
- Able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Basic mathematical skills
- Knowledge of filling out waybills is an asset.
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
- Computer literacy, including working skills of Excel and e-mail.
- Attention to detail in all areas of work.
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- The ability to communicate in Oji-Cree or Ojibway is an asset.
- Overtime as required.
- Travel may be required.
- Weekend work may be required.
- Hazards associated with trade.
- May be exposed to loud noise, dirt, oil, and fumes.
- Ability to lift to 70 lbs.; Repetitively.
- Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computers and peripherals.
