Tom Morris,
President & Chief Executive Officer, Wasaya Airways LP
 

Tom Morris has been with Wasaya Airways for over 10 years. He has held his current position of President & CEO for the last 3 years, including the recent restructuring of Wasaya Corporation (parent company) into Wasaya Group Inc. Tom’s other positions with Wasaya Airways include Executive Vice-President, Vice-President, a senior management trainee gaining experience in all operational areas, and 3 years as a Wasaya Airways and Corporation Resource Worker, responsible for liaison with the North-western Ontario First Nations and customers.

 

Prior to his appointment with Wasaya Airways, he served his community of Big Trout Lake (Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug) as a Band Councilor, Board of Director of Petakaywin Development Corporation, Community Tourism Coordinator, and as the Band Economic Development Officer for 11 years. 

Mr. Morris served on the board of Directors of Nishnawbe-Aski Development Fund (Thunder Bay), served on the Aboriginal Capital Corporation (NADF) Board of Director,   and as Secretary Treasurer of the board.

He has also served on the Board of Directors of IFNA Engineers (Sioux Lookout), the Petakaywin Development Corporation, the Kitchenuhmaykoosib Education Authority, the Northern Native Tourism Association (Thunder Bay), and has been involved as a working group member with the Shibogama Winter Roads Study.

 

 

Jonathon Mamakwa

Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Wasaya Airways LP

Jonathon Mamakwa has been serving on the Wasaya Airways Board for the past 5 years, as well as 11 years on the Executive Board of Wasaya Corporation.  In 2001, Jonathan joined the Wasaya Airways Senior Management team in day to day operations, being appointed as Vice President.

Prior to Wasaya Airways, Jonathan worked for the Kingfisher Lake First Nation and served on various boards representing First Nation interests. He was employed with the First Nation for 16 years. As Wasaya’s Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Jonathon oversees the Charter Sales Department and the Marketing Department.  Together, they work as a team to ensure quality service is delivered to Wasaya Airways' customers and travelling passengers.

 

 

Maureen Sitch,

Vice President of Finance & Administration, Wasaya Airways LP 

Maureen Sitch has been with Wasaya Airways for over 14 years.  She has held the position of Vice President of Finance and Administration for the last 5 years. Maureen has worked in all financial positions within Wasaya Airways and oversees the accounting work for 9 entities within the Wasaya Group of Companies. 

 

Maureen also serves on the Board of Directors for Wasaya Petroleum LP. Prior to Wasaya Airways, Maureen worked in various service, retail and manufacturing industries in a financial capacity.  Maureen has also done volunteer work within the community and provided bookkeeping training to some First Nation organizations.

 

 

Colin Carswell,

Vice President of Maintenance, Wasaya Airways LP

Colin Carswell started with Wasaya Airways in 1990 as the Director of Maintenance, and was appointed VP of Maintenance in 1998.  As the VP of Maintenance, he oversees the entire department, based at Wasaya’s Thunder Bay Hangar.

 

Colin has always been based out of Thunder Bay. He has held previous positions as the Director of Maintenance for such companies as Springer Aerospace, Calm Air and prior to that he was in the U.K. Military, working on the Queen's Flight for about 7 years.
